“When we were little, we kept close to our mother in a dark alley or if dogs barked at us. Now, when we feel temptations of the flesh, we should run to the side of our Mother in Heaven, by realizing how she is to us, and by means of aspirations. She will defend us and lead us to the light.” -St. Josemaria Escriva

In fine, “thy name, O Mother of God, is filled with divine graces and blessings,” as St. Methodius says. So much so, that St. Bonaventure declares, “that thy name, O Mary, cannot be pronounced without bringing some grace to him who does so devoutly.”. . grant, O Lady, that we may often remember to name thee with love and confidence; for this practice either shows the possession of divine grace, or else is a pledge that we shall soon recover it.
On the other hand, Thomas a Kempis affirms “that the devils fear the Queen of heaven to such a degree, that only on hearing her great name pronounced, they fly from him who does so as from a burning fire.” The Blessed Virgin herself revealed to St. Bridget “that there is not on earth a sinner, however devoid he may be of the love of God, from whom the devil is not obliged immediately to fly, if he invokes her holy name with a determination to repent.” On another occasion she repeated the same thing to the saint, saying, “that all the devils venerate and fear her name to such a degree, that on hearing it they immediately loosen the claws with which they hold the soul captive.” Our Blessed Lady also told St. Bridget, “that in the same way as the rebel angels fly from sinners who invoke the name of Mary, so also do the good angels approach nearer to just souls who pronounce her name with devotion.”

After World War II, Austria was divided between four countries: America, France, the United Kingdom, and Russia. At the time, Russia was still communist. The section of Austria controlled by the communists was the richest, and included the city of Vienna. The Viennese were subject to the all the atrocities and tyrannies of communism. However, in 1946, Fr. Petrus Pavlicek, after making a pilgrimage to Mariazell, the principle Marian shrine in Austria, was told by an interior voice: “Do as I say and there will be peace.”
To obey this inspiration of Our Lady, Fr. Pevlicek founded the Holy Rosary Crusade of Reparation in 1947. This Crusade consisted of the Viennese faithful coming out of their homes in order to participate in a public Rosary procession in the streets of the city. The intentions of the Rosary were for the end of communism in their country and in the world. At first, the processions were miniscule, but in time they grew to staggering proportions. In 1955, after eight years spreading the word about the Crusade throughout Austria, the Rosary processions would reach sizes of half a million people, about 1/10 of the Austrian population. Finally, through the help of Our Lady, the Soviet forces pulled out of Austria in October of 1955, leaving the country for good.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you, and for all who do not have recourse to you, especially the enemies of the Church and those recommended to you. Amen.

“Thank you all so much for your prayers and for all of the wonderful support you have given us. Unfortunately, we have received more hard news and need your prayers even more. At the follow-up appointment with our neurosurgeon, we were told that the tumor is worse than originally thought and that I have brain cancer that will need further treatment.
I will be starting radiation and chemotherapy at MD Anderson in July, and the treatment will last between 6-12 months. At this time, there is no cure for this cancer and the statistics of reoccurrence are unfavorable. But nobody knows what the future holds. For all of us, each day is a gift and our Lord is able to do all things.
There is much hope in the research and advancements that are being done at MD Anderson. The goal is to cure cancer. While this calling is critically important and life changing, literally life saving, it isn’t our ultimate hope.
This world is not our home. Suffering exists here because we are made for heaven. We are all broken in some way. Our hope is in Jesus.
I’m so grateful for my life with Kaleb. I want to be here for my girls. I want to watch them grow. I want to teach them to know Jesus and to know their identity of being a beloved daughter of God. I want them to know their worth, the inherent worth of each person and the deep and unwavering love of Jesus. But above all, I want to do God’s will.
Thank you for all of our family, friends, community members and doctors. I know I am not alone. Above all, I want to be a saint. Our mother Mary loves us and intercedes for us. She takes our prayers to her son, Jesus, who loves us so much.
If you know of any blessed saints that are waiting on a miracle for canonization, we would love to know about them and have them intercede on our behalf.
Please pray for our family as we travel the path laid before us. We will fight, we will hope and we will trust in Jesus.
I love each of you.”

Our Lady of Czestochowa, please pray for us!

“In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And that you may obtain the assistance of her prayer, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for guide, you shall never go astray; while invoking her, you shall never lose heart; so long as she is in your mind, you are safe from deception; while she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; if she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal.” -Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Father and Doctor of the Church
