Among the many other divinely gifts, St. Padre Pio also had the gift of mysticism. In 1947, he took the confession of a young Polish priest named Karol Józef Wojtyła and told him that one day he would ascend to “the highest post in the Church though further confirmation is needed.” That priest later became known to the world as Pope John Paul II.

Christ … fulfills this prophetic office, not only by the hierarchy … but also by the laity. He accordingly both establishes them as witnesses and provides them with the sense of the faith [sensus fidei] and the grace of the word"
To teach in order to lead others to faith is the task of every preacher and of each believer.
Lay people also fulfill their prophetic mission by evangelization, “that is, the proclamation of Christ by word and the testimony of life.” For lay people, “this evangelization … acquires a specific property and peculiar efficacy because it is accomplished in the ordinary circumstances of the world.”
This witness of life, however, is not the sole element in the apostolate; the true apostle is on the lookout for occasions of announcing Christ by word, either to unbelievers … or to the faithful.
Lay people who are capable and trained may also collaborate in catechetical formation, in teaching the sacred sciences, and in use of the communications media.
“In accord with the knowledge, competence, and preeminence which they possess, [lay people] have the right and even at times a duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church, and they have a right to make their opinion known to the other Christian faithful, with due regard to the integrity of faith and morals and reverence toward their pastors, and with consideration for the common good and the dignity of persons.”

🙋♀️🙋♂️🗳👶❤️ Roe v Wade has caused the legal deaths of over 60,853,941+ babies in the United States of America…
Roe created an “absolute right to abortion” under which “any abortion can be justified”
“Most Americans favor legal restrictions on abortion that go way beyond current law,” according to Lydia Saad, a senior editor for the Gallup polling company which has long tracked abortion opinion.
The way Americans self-identify has changed dramatically over the years. In the mid-1990s, “pro-life” was a distinct minority view. But in May 2009, for the first time, a significantly greater percentage of Americans self-identified as “pro-life” than “pro-choice.”
According to Gallup, only a small minority of Americans agree with Roe:
—61% of Americans say abortion should be illegal after the fetal heartbeat has begun, which occurs in the first month of pregnancy.
—72% of Americans say abortion should be illegal after the first 3 months of pregnancy.
—86% of Americans say abortion should be illegal after the first 6 months of pregnancy.
—Only 6% -17% of Americans believe abortion should be legal at any time, in all circumstances.

“Remove justice, and what are kingdoms but gangs of criminals on a large scale?… A gang is a group of men… in which the plunder is divided according to an agreed convention. If this villainy… acquires territory, establishes a base, captures cities and subdues people, it then openly arrogates to itself the title of kingdom.” -Saint Augustine

It had to have been a bad day for Peter when #jesus basically called him Satan. Remember that in Mark’s gospel?
Peter was thinking as Man thinks – Sociology – While Jesus was trying to teach us Theology- the logic of or thinking of the word of God.

The Second Coming
At this time, the final, or general judgment will occur. Jesus said, “Those who have done right shall rise to life; the evildoers shall rise to be damned” (Jn 5:29). Our Lord described this judgment as follows: “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, escorted by all the angels of heaven, He will sit upon His royal throne and all the nations will be assembled before Him. Then He will separate them into two groups, as a shepherd separated sheep from goats” (Mt 25:31-32).
Here each person will have to account for his conduct and the deepest secrets of his soul will come to light. How well each person has responded to the prompting of God’s grace will be made clear. Our attitude and actions toward our neighbor will reflect how well we have loved our Lord. “As often as you did it for one of My least brothers, you did it for Me” (Mt 25:41).
Our Lord will judge us accordingly. For those who have died and already have faced the particular judgment, their judgment will stand. Those living at the time of the Second Coming will receive judgment. Those who have rejected the Lord in this life, who have sinned mortally,, who have no remorse for sin and do not seek forgiveness, will have condemned themselves to hell for all eternity. “By rejecting grace in this life, one already judges oneself, receives according to one’s works and can even condemn oneself for all eternity by rejecting the Spirit of love (Catechism, No. 678). The souls of the righteous will enter heavenly glory and enjoy the beatific vision and those who need purification will undergo it.

No words are sufficient to express the outrage and devestation surrounding the abuse in the Catholic Church.
As faithful Catholics, it’s tempting to try and minimize the evil by saying things about how it’s only a minority or this occurs in other institutions. This isn’t helpful. Even one priest committing these atrocities is too many. Even one bishop covering up abuse is too many. We shouldn’t invalidate the victims’ experiences by focusing on statistics. That isn’t a Christian attitude, and it doesn’t help the Church.
The other temptation is to stay silent altogether because we don’t want to criticize the Church. Calling out these evils isn’t criticizing the Church; it is criticizing those who have failed to live up to the promises they made to the Church.
The Church can only heal if we root out the evil that has infiltrated it.
What “crying out” looks like will be different for each person. There are absolutely actions that people can take that will vary by Diocese and Parish, but what we can all do is pray.
Pray for healing for the victims. Pray for the rot to be removed from the Church. Pray for people whose faith is shaken or who have left the Church because of these scandals. Pray for the good and holy priests who will face backlash despite their innocence. Pray in reparation for the sins. Pray for God’s mercy. Keep praying.
