These priests go around and do confessions for people. It’s truly beautiful. We can do the same thing. If people are struggling. Give them a comforting hand. Little things can completely change ones life.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart with Your holy gifts. Let my weakness be penetrated with Your strength this very day that I may fulfill all the duties of my state conscientiously, that I may do what is right and just.

Let my charity be such as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s feelings; so generous as to pardon sincerely any wrong done to me.

Assist me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life, enlighten me in my ignorance, advise me in my doubts, strengthen me in my weakness, help me in all my needs, protect me in temptations and console me in afflictions.

Graciously hear me, O Holy Spirit, and pour Your light into my heart, my soul, and my mind. Assist me to live a holy life and to grow in goodness and grace. Amen.

“The Church of Christ is always, so to speak, in a situation of Pentecost: she is always gathered in the Upper Room in prayer, and at the same time, driven by the powerful wind of the Spirit, she is always on the streets preaching” -St. John Paul II
Let us pray…Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle us the fire of your love. O Lord, on this day of Pentecost, give us the grace and strength to go forth from our homes and parishes to bring the Gospel message to the world we encounter each day of our lives. Amen.

Pentecost and the Pantheon: this video, taken live today, will blow you out of your mind!

The Pantheon is the oldest building in the world in continuous use. It was built by the Emperor Marcus Agrippa about 23 years before the birth of Christ in honor of the Roman gods. Hence, the name” Pantheon,” meaning “to all the gods.” Immediately under the incredibly magnificent central oculus or eye of the open dome, the Roman Emperors would sit, signifying their direct connection with the heavens.

In the year 609, thanks to Pope Boniface IV, the Pantheon became a Roman Catholic Church, and the Eucharist has been preserved there unceasingly ever since. This is our link with God, but far more importantly, God’s link with us. This is what we celebrate at Pentecost and indeed every day: God comes down to raise us up!

So how special it is today for EWTN to be at the Pantheon and shoot this amazing video live! La pioggia dei petali rose … a shower of red rose petals falling through the oculus from the Heavens! An unbroken tradition that dates to 609 AD, signifying the descent of the Holy Spirit as tongues of fire.

Watch to the end as this most ancient of Churches is blanketed with red roses with their sweet scent. Watch this video! It will blow you out of your mind, but, even more importantly, pray for the Holy Spirit to descend from Heaven for you!

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful
And kindle in them the fire of Your love
V: Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created
R: And You shall renew the face of the earth
Let us Pray:
O God, Who instructed the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, Grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

O God, the Shepherd and Ruler of all Your faithful people, mercifully look upon Your servant Pope Francis, whom You have chosen as the chief Shepherd to preside over Your Church. We beg You to help him edify, both by word and example, those over whom he has charge, that he may reach everlasting life together with the flock entrusted to him. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We can look for God’s wisdom in several ways:
• By humbly listening to His Spirit in prayer,
• By studying scripture and our Church’s teachings and,
• By receiving His guidance in the sacraments of the Eucharist (at Mass) and of Penance (in Confession) to serve others and show them His love.

• By studying scripture and our Church’s teachings and,
• By receiving His guidance in the sacraments of the Eucharist (at Mass) and of Penance (in Confession) to serve others and show them His love.

We see here from the two versions of this prayer to the Holy Spirit how being truly wise means relishing what God thinks is right, including “patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness [and] self-control,” as St. Paul wrote in his letter to the Galatians (Gal 5:5).

The implication of this is quite beautiful: If you’re living in this world focused on Eternal Life with God in the next, and are sincerely seeking to do His will, in good times and bad, you will be blessed with the consolation of His great comforter: the Holy Spirit. May this prayer help bring you His support!
