We Honor Our Blessed Mother🌹
“All generations will call me blessed”: “The Church’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin is intrinsic to Christian worship.” The Church rightly honors “the Blessed Virgin with special devotion. From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin has been honored with the title of ‘Mother of God,’ to whose protection the faithful fly in all their dangers and needs… . This very special devotion … differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit, and greatly fosters this adoration."516 The liturgical feasts dedicated to the Mother of God and Marian prayer, such as the rosary, an "epitome of the whole Gospel,” express this devotion to the Virgin Mary.
The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body.
“Now, you heretic, you say (whoever you are who deny that God was born of the Virgin), that Mary, the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, cannot be called the Mother of God, but the Mother only of Christ and not of God—for no one, you say, gives birth to one older than herself. And concerning this utterly stupid argument … let us prove by divine testimonies both that Christ is God and that Mary is the Mother of God” (John Cassian, On the Incarnation of Christ Against Nestorius 2:2 [A.D. 429]).

On young people and hope in the future:
I can see it in the faces of the young people. In fact, in the ten years that I have been a bishop, one of the things that has struck me most is a line from the opening of the Gospel of St Luke that I see continuously manifest in so many of our young people, particularly those who give themselves over to witnessing for life. The line in St Luke is: “Theophilus, I’m writing what I’m writing so that you will know the kind of assurance you have in believing in Jesus.” The Greek word for it — paresia — means conviction, assurance, truth!
It does not mean arrogance, by the way. It means a conviction.
Sisters and brothers, I see growing — particularly within our young people, even in the midst sometimes of a desert culture here — this wondrous paresia. I am impressed — at times, whether in confirmations, or in meetings of young people, I am even overwhelmed. Don’t get a big head, but stick with it. Because the paresia, the conviction, is not something you constructed, the paresia is not something we make — its the gift that comes as hearts melt and as the Lord Jesus is the centerpiece: the one who is the son of the Virgin Mary, whose energetic acceptance of running from Nazareth to Galilee to greet Elizabeth and sing her Magnificat, her energetic acceptance of which takes her all through the life of her Son among us.
Now, you put those things together, friends — you’ve got genuine power. But it’s not a power of this world — that’s why Jesus announces the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God. what is it? The beatitudes begin to unpack it, but by the end of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke you no longer ask “what” is the kingdom of God, you ask “WHO” is the kingdom of God? And you know who that is — it’s the Lord Jesus who has given us the Beatitudes.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy🍂
If not me and you to help, then who?
We can’t always ask for miracles, we can be someone’s miracle. Since I’ve worked in a homeless shelter, I learned so much from those poor people. They’re humble, kind, have unconditional faith in God, speak the truth, and I was stunned when all of them admitted that it was their fault they ended up homeless.
Some of them just wanted someone to talk to. To tell them that they’re getting a job, an apartment, or a car.
They want someone to tell them, you did it, God is proud of you. Some of them really got a job and a place to live in.
They promised me that I’ll see them when I come back again. But this time I’ll see them as volunteers helping to motivate others to never give up and push themselves to live a better life.
@the.daily.catholic came up with this perfect project and we are both going to start to get some stuff that they need the most.
We will make sure not to just throw food and clothes in their faces as like we are doing them a favor. Absolutely not, you can’t look down at others or feel the pride of what you’re doing. Work of mercy does not work like that.
Plus we will be adding different projects too. Like visiting sick kids in hospitals, abandoned elderly, and so on.
I don’t want Jesus to tell me, you had plenty of time to do many things but you wasted it on useless stuff. Just saying that gives me chills and a broken heart. We are not trees, let’s move our feet and let God to bless our footsteps🍂
Let the work of mercy begin🍂

We loved this reflection on hope from the pope’s homily at daily Mass. The pope said hope is a joyful anticipation of encounter with God – similar to a pregnant mother joyfully anticipating meeting her unborn child.

The home is the first school of Christian life and “a school for human enrichment.” Here one learns endurance and the joy of work, fraternal love, generous — even repeated — forgiveness, and above all divine worship in prayer and the offering of one’s life (CCC, 1657).

Ellie’s mom became pregnant with her in high school and chose life instead of abortion for her daughter. Ellie, a proud Army wife and mommy, has a beautiful baby girl of her own now because her mom saw the goodness and dignity of choosing life for her! Today I attended for the first time an event of how to defend the faith and Jesus’ relevance in today’s world @stjosephchaldeanchurch
Father Bryan had an excellent talk about how to defend the faith and Jesus’ relevance.
I was in awe the whole entire hour father Bryan gave evidence, proves, & tiny details that even as a non believer couldn’t question them after hearing him.
He didn’t make it complicated, he broke the answer into small details that you won’t want to miss.
I thought I knew how to defend the faith and had it all in control. After today, I realize, I knew nothing about how to defend the faith. Telling people they will go to Hell and call them names won’t let them to come to faith. Yes, say the truth, but say it wisely. Trying to win a debate won’t make the non-believer or different come to Jesus. Father Bryan also asked us three questions to think about before we left. And I will ask you those 3 questions to think about…
1) How do I spend my time each week with Jesus? Do I just go to Mass and Adoration and pray before bed and call it for the day? Do I say I went to Mass and I’m good? We must put Jesus as the center of our lives and not just on Sundays.
2) How did I spend my money the last 30 days? Do I just care about the brand name and the way I look? Do I spend money on things I want mostly? Do I worship money more than Jesus?
3) Who are my friends? Do I just have friends who just call me to hang out or to drag me to church?
Do I have friends who judge me fairly and make me aware of me actions? Do I have friends who love Jesus too and love to talk about Him? I wanted to share a little bit of what I learned today @war_room_sjhm and if you live in Michigan I highly recommend that you attend. Next Thursday it will be in a different Catholic Church. It’s only one hour, but that one hour will fill your soul with God’s words. Your soul is tired and you need to feed your soul just like you need to feed your body to stay strong and to do your tasks.
