My dude Chris Pratt @prattprattpratt! Thank you for using your platform to remind everyone watching to pray and do good, remember that they have a soul + a God who loves them, and to courtesy flush 😂. This is the most refreshing thing I’ve seen on the internet in a long time. I’ve been praying for the conversion of hearts in Hollywood and I’m grateful to see how Jesus is Lord in Starlord’s heart. #witness #faith #hope #love #Jesus #hollywood #mtv

Roma Day 16: today’s highlight hands down was spending the evening with Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke who joined us for dinner, a great discussion capped off with a Rosary. I am always amazed at how gracious and generous he is. He has been unfairly characterized by some, so please pray for him and the important ministry he does for the Church. Besides classes, we also went to a number of beautiful churches and found a film crew on our roof when we got home. Just another amazing day here in the Eternal City.

“What really matters in life is that we are loved by Christ and that we love Him in return. In comparison to the love of Jesus, everything else is secondary. And, without the love of Jesus, everything is useless.” -St. John Paul II

St. Longinus is the centurion who pierced the side of Our Lord while He was hanging on the Cross. St. Longinus, who was nearly blind, was healed when some of the blood and water from Jesus fell into his eyes. It was then he exclaimed “Indeed, this was the Son of God!” [Mark 15:39]. St. Longinus then converted, Left the army, took instruction from the apostles and became a monk in Cappadocia. There he was arrested for his faith, his teeth forced out and tongue cut off. However, St. Longinus miraculously continued to speak clearly and managed to destroy several idols in the presence of the governor. The governor, who was made blind by the demons that came from the idols, had his sight restored when St. Longinus was being beheaded, because his blood came in contact with the governors’ eyes. St. Longinus’ relics are now in the church of St Augustine, in Rome. His Lance is contained in one of the four pillars over the altar in the Basilica of St Peter’s in Rome.
St. Longinus, pray for us!

“You don’t have to be worthy, you only have to be willing.”
It can be easy to feel unworthy to hold a certain position or be put in charge of a task. Padre Pio reminds us that we need only be willing to accept the challenge. We do not have to be perfect by any means. The Lord only requires that we say yes.

Glorious, humble and beloved Padre Pio. Teach us, we pray, humility of heart, so that we may be counted among the little ones of the Gospel to whom the Father promised to reveal the mysteries of His Kingdom. Help us to pray without ceasing, certain that God knows what we need even before we ask Him. Amen.

Letter to father Agostino, of (March 12, 1913)…

Letter to father Agostino, of (March 12, 1913)
“… my father, listen to our sweet Jesus’ complaints: “My love for men is repaid with so much ingratitude! Those people would have offended me less if I had loved them less. My father doesn’t want to tolerate them anymore. I would like to stop loving them, but… (And here Jesus kept silent and, afterward taken aback) but my heart is made for loving! The tired men don’t try to overcome the temptations. Rather these men enjoy their iniquities. The souls I love more than the other’s when they suffer a temptation, when they don’t succeed in withstanding. The weak souls are dismayed and desperate. The strong souls trust Jesus. They leave me alone at night and in the morning in Church. They don’t take care of the sacrament of the altar; they don’t speak of this sacrament of love anymore; also, the people who do speak of the sacrament do it with so much indifference and coldness. My Heart has been forgotten; nobody cares for my love; I am always saddened. My house has become a theatre of plays for a lot of people; even my priests that I have always protected carefully, that I have loved as the apple of my eye; they should comfort my sorrowful heart; they should help me in the redemption of the souls, instead…. Who would believe it? I receive ingratitude from them. I see, my Son, a lot of them that… (Here he stopped, sobs tightened his throat, he wept) that under false semblance they betray me with sacrilegious communions, stamping on the light and the strength that I continually give them… “.

The story of The Passion is a revelation of wh…

The story of The Passion is a revelation of who God is. The First Letter of John 4:8 says God is love. The passion shows us what love means. Love cannot sit idly by in the face of suffering. It instead leaves comfort behind and risks itself to mount a rescue mission. Love, therefore, must first empty Himself of glory at the Fathers right hand, and take the form of a slave (Phil 2:6-11). From the splendor of heavenly glory to the squalor of a stinking stable. As if that were not enough, Love surrenders Himself into the hands of those who torture Him to death. He saw their torches coming in the valley as He prayed on the hillside in the Garden. He could have walked over the mountain and disappeared without a trace in the Judean wilderness. Or He could have used his Divine Power at any moment to scatter the Temple Guard and the Romans. Till the very end, He could have come down from that cross, as the crowd taunted Him to do.
But that’s just it. He had to love till the very end (John 13:1). Love to the max. The fullness of love in a human heart means a love that was absolutely unstoppable by anything that hell and fallen humanity could hurl against it. And no love, no commitment is total unless it entails the supreme sacrifice of one’s life.
That’s what was necessary to redeem us out of slavery to evil, to get us out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, across the Jordan, and into the Promised Land. It was for our freedom that He died; let’s not again willingly submit ourselves to the bondage of sin.
